Zhenghe County is a key forest area in Fujian Province, and is known as “the hometown of bamboo products in China”. The existing bamboo forest area reaches 460,000 mu, and the total standing bamboo volume reaches 60 million.
Anyo Bamboo is an ‘endless’ resource. It grows faster than any other plant. It grows up to 1 meter per day. It is a very valuable and practical bamboo with high use and economic value among Anyo bamboo. Among the more than 300 species of bamboo plants in China, Nanzhu is the fastest growing, the best material, the most versatile, the most economically valuable, and the most widely planted. It takes one year to restore a 60-foot-tall tree, but only 59 days for a bamboo of the same length.
The bamboo pole is more than 20 meters tall and up to 20 cm thick, with young poles densely pubescent and thickly white powdered, hairy culm sheath rings and old poles glabrous and fading from green to greenish-yellow; the basal internodes are very short and longer upward, with the middle internodes up to 40 cm or longer, with walls about 1 cm thick (but with variation); the pole rings are inconspicuous, lower than the culm sheath rings or raised in the thin pole.
